Many thanks to Boing Boing for giving me a glimpse of the future of record collecting. Let me know when I can print out a copy of Howlin' Wolf's, unreleased at the time, 5 minute and 40 second long recording of "Tired Of Crying"......preferably on a deep groove 12in 45.

Colby...I've seen the clip before, it's very beautiful. However, it's been pointed out elsewhere that the wooden platter is not actually being played...it's being used as a trigger for a midi program, which is what creates the piano sound.
ReplyDeleteBecause the sounds are variable according to computer settings, I think the wooden disk/turntable set up qualifies as a musical instrument rather than the simple playing of a recording.
