Nous moman tchué nous,
Nous popa manzé nous.
Nous pas dans la bière,
Nous pas dans cimetière.
Y'know, this should be so INCREDIBLY alien-seeming to this ex-congregationalist exiled yankee, currently (agnostic? pagan?) & a geographic southerner ... but it's not. Feels right. Feels good. Thanks for sharing!
This isn't something I've ever seen or heard of before Holly. One of the people who left a comment on you tube says it's a relatively recent thing, and I believe that. I've seen some wildly untraditional funerals since Katrina. Here's another clip that's been up a few years now. In it's way it's much more traditional, but does show something not seen that often. Shaking the casket so as to give the deceased one more chance to dance.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krJW2qMVv4M&feature=related
