My copy of this looks like it was used as a hubcap on a '58 Dodge which was driven til the engine blew then it was sent to the junkyard. But it still sounds great. what a killer record.
Derek.....isn't it amazing how some records can look so bad, and sound so good?
I just found a copy of Louie Louie by Richard Berry at a yard sale that's totally covered with scratches...not a bit of gloss left on it....and ya know what? It doesn't sound half bad. Not perfect by any means, but not too bad either.
Uhmmm, just cause I don't get to brag about the condition of my records too often....the Earl King is about as close to mint as you'll find. Yeah I had to pay for it, but not as much as you might think.
Damn fine stuff! Thanks. Just discovered your blog through Derek's Daily and am loving it so far. W.
